Competition-Ready Robotics (SPIKE™ Prime)
Ready to take robotics to the next level? This brand new two-week morning camp is for campers who want to go beyond the basics and experience what real LEGO® robotics competitions are like. This camp will be smaller than our typical YBB camps, providing more one-on-one instruction.
You can take WEEK 1 on its own, or bundle both weeks together for the best value.
🤖 WEEK 1: Build the Brain
This week is all about building a solid, competition-ready robot from the ground up using LEGO® SPIKE™ Prime. WEEK 1 is designed to build confidence and core skills.
Campers will:
• Build and program a reliable base robot
• Learn how to drive precise distances and turns
• Practice line following and sensor use
• Add and modify attachments for simple missions
By the end of the week, students have a robot that’s ready to take on bigger challenges.
🏆 WEEK 2: Competition Mode
WEEK 2 is where things really get exciting. Campers work on an authentic FIRST® LEGO® League (FLL) competition table and tackle a full set of missions—just like real teams. From planning to execution, the week feels like a true robotics competition.
They will:
• Build and refine an advanced driving train with attachments
• Run multiple missions for points
• Follow most FLL competition rules
• Test strategies, keep score, and improve runs
WEEK 2 builds on WEEK 1, is faster-paced and more competitive, which is why WEEK 1 is required before moving on to WEEK 2.

👧🧒 Great for:
• Kids curious about competitive robotics
• Future FIRST LEGO League team members
• Builders who love problem-solving, coding, and challenges
This camp is hands-on, fast-paced, and perfect for students who want to level up their robotics skills.
🤔 Is This Camp Right for My Child?
This camp is a great fit if your child:
• Enjoys LEGO® building and likes figuring out how things work
• Is curious about robotics, coding, or competition-style challenges
• Can follow multi-step instructions and stay focused on a project
• Likes testing, fixing, and improving their ideas (iteration is part of the fun!)
This camp may not be the best fit if your child:
• Is brand new to LEGO® building or prefers open-ended free play
• Gets easily frustrated when things don’t work on the first try
• Is looking for a purely arts-and-crafts or casual LEGO® experience
If you’re unsure, WEEK 1 is a great place to start, and you can decide from there whether your child is ready to jump into competition mode. Or you may call us to discuss further.
